Dr. Paul E. Norwood has been practicing medicine and surgery for over 10 years. He was raised in Fort Wayne, IN where he first found his love for animals. Growing up he had numerous and various species of pets including 12 snakes, turtles, frogs, toads, rabbits, guinea pigs, salamanders, 3 dogs, a cat, and various fish species. He also raised wild birds when he found them injured. His mother, a registered nurse, prophesized that he would become a veterinarian and/or a surgeon.

After graduating from high school, he took a leap of faith and pursued his dream, this led him to the Internationally renowned Tuskegee University. There he excelled in academics, making the Dean's List, receiving the Thomas Campbell Scholarship, and being accepted early into the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine(TUSVM). TUSVM is one of only a handful of Accreditied Schools of Veterinary Medicine in the country. During his education he spent his summers working in the field by working at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, the USDA Veterinary Services, and being chosen to the Externship program with the Atlanta Zoo. He gained invaluable experience in Companion pets, Farm animal, Zoo and Exotic animal care.

Dr. Norwood excelled in the four year program, passed the National Board Exams , and Graduated in May of 1998, receiving the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine(D.V.M) degree and the Bachelor of Science in Animal Science.

After receiving several offers throughout the country he made the decision to practice in the Greater Atlanta Area, taking a position as an associate Doctor with Pet Smart Veterinary Services (now Banfield) in Duluth, GA. After practicing there for 2 years he accepted a position in Peachtree City, GA with Dr. Robbie Baggett and Braelinn Animal Hospital. He built a long lasting and respectable relationship with the community. He extended his work by reliefing Doctors at various hospitals throughout Atlanta including numerous Banfield Hospitals, Huntington Creek Animal Hospital(Fayetteville), Senoia A.H.(Senoia), Lafayette A.H. (Fayetteville), Union City A.H. and Emergency Care, and Southern Crescent Animal Emergency Hospital(Fayetteville). He also gave back to various communities by donating his Sundays day off and working with Low cost Vaccination programs with Luv My Pet, Inc. where he built extensive relationships with clients all over the Greater Atlanta area for 3 + years.

In January 2005 he teamed up with well respected doctors, Robbie Baggett and Mike Younker(former President of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association) and acquired his current Hospital.

March 5, 2005 he reopened the doors of Hidden Hills Animal Hospital. His vision, to bring the Stone Mountain and surrounding communities a new higher standard of companion pet care.

Dr. Norwood married his wife, JoAnn, and together have 3 beautiful children, Sylvia, Jason, and Paul III. They have 2 very active family members, "Heru "(9yr old German short hair Pointer), and "Pawl"(2yr old lab-pitbull mixe) that they adopted and enjoy playing 'fetch'.

Dr. Norwood enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, camping, quail hunting with 'Heru", music and dance and cheering on his favorite Sports Teams: Atlanta Falcons, Braves, and Hawks, Notre Dame Football, and of course Tuskegee University Football.
